Canadian, TX News You Can Use for July 16-22

Buon Giorno!

On Monday I rushed out of the office at 4:50 pm, hoping to catch the Hemphill County Library before they locked the doors.  Of course, had I just checked their very helpful website I would have known that they stay open until 6pm on Mondays and Thursdays to help accommodate more schedules.

On this particular day, I was hoping to pick up a language learning cd.  Head Librarian April Dillon directed me to their online learning program called Mango.  It's available for free for anyone that has a Hemphill County library card!  This online language learning program has just about every language you could ever imagine learning as well as several ESL courses.  It's even available for download to your iPhone for on the go learning!  One quick browse around the Library's website, and you'll quickly know this is not a library stuck in the past.  Their website allows you to reserve books, take numerous classes, and download audio and ebooks.  Do any of those terms intimidate you?  Just stop in the library and the helpful staff will walk you through any and all of it, one on one!

Of course, if you haven't visited the renovated library in person yet, it's a must do for your summer bucket list.  You will be amazed by the beauty and detail that went into the restoration.

The library offers several programs throughout the summer, including a summer reading program and Movie Monday's for the kids!

We look forward to seeing you out and about in Canadian!  Ciao!!
