Canadian Arts Alliance Community Theater performs each year in October. Talented actors have staged Dearly Beloved, Steel Magnolias, Arsenic and Old Lace and Who’s in Bed with the Butler. A Saturday evening and Sunday matinee performance brings 350 to the hall.

Children’s Theatre Camp, Sponsored by the Canadian Arts Alliance, fills the hall when as many as 60 children, after a week of practice, take to the stage in July. Over 400 attend the performance. Every holiday the CAA organizes a Youth Christmas Recital where piano pieces are played on the Steinway. In years past the CAA brought holiday shows to town including the Gatlin Brothers, Three Redneck Tenors, and Waddie Mitchell’s Cowboy Christmas. CISD has an All School Reunion every five years in the hall. The auditorium is filled with alumni and photos are staged on the sweeping front steps of what was once the High School. CISD uses the auditorium throughout the year for drama classes and special events, and local churches have filled in with motivational speakers.
