Home of the Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian/Hemphill County Economic Development Council, the Visitors’ Center is the information hub for many activities throughout the year. Brochures, maps, and lists of activities are provided to visitors and residents alike. Capacity: building and grounds 300.
4th of July Celebration: Small town America at its best – themed parade with trophies awarded, patriotic music on the courthouse grounds, art shows, turtle races, rodeos, a watermelon feast, duck race and more. It is a red, white, and blue celebration with over 5,000 attending annually.
Summer Music in the Park: The Visitor’s Center spacious grassy backyard is the perfect venue for music in the month of June. More than 300 enjoy an outdoor concert three weekends during the month.
Screen on the Green: Thought outdoor movies were a thing of the past? Think again. On three Saturdays during the month of July, movies are screened on the Visitors’ Center grounds. Spread your blanket under the stars and join the other happy moviegoers. More than a 100 gather during a movie night.
Fall Foliage Festival: Held the third week in October, as many as 7,000 people enjoy a weekend of special art exhibits, museum displays, car shows, home tours, Run for Life at Wagon Bridge, Ranch Rodeo, dances, and wonderful nature activities at Lake Marvin.
